Wow! Just wow! I can’t tell how lovely it was to go out to the seaside in the winter sunshine. After several days in front of my computer and doing mundane accounts and filing I saw a window of opportunity to enjoy a solo outing to the beach just for the pleasure.
A friend suggested St-Pair-sur-Mer and i was happy to try somewhere new. They mentioned it had a seawater swimming pool that might make interesting photos and boy, we’re they right !
I knew the tide would be coming in as I was there but I had no idea how lucky I’d be that the waves would crash onto the outside wall giving my the opportunity to capture some striking images, some with Granville in the background. I’d wanted to capture images like these for a number of years but had never had the opportunity or the weather had been rainy so these, with the blue sky in the background are the réalisation of à small dream of mine.
All these photos were taken within 50 metres either side of the sea water pool.
I usually choose beach locations with cliffs of dunes, somewhere more ‘natural’ but I loved this challenge of being on a beach a little more urban and seeing how much variety I could capture. I was so pleasantly surprised.
I can’t tell you how good it felt to hear, feel and see the sea, particularly on a sunny Winter’s afternoon.
